David Moyes has led West Ham to their highest ever points total at the halfway stage of a Premier League season.
The Hammers moved up to seventh in the table after Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio were on target in a 2-1 win over relegation-threatened West Brom at London Stadium.
The result moved Moyes' side to 32 points (W9 D5 L5) and they have never had more after 19 games in the competition.
West Ham's previous best came midway through 2014-15 when they had 31 points under the leadership of Sam Allardyce, who was the defeated Baggies boss on Tuesday.
Moyes' second spell in charge of the east London club is proving to be his most impressive spell in the dugout since an ill-fated stint at Manchester United as Alex Ferguson's successor.
Indeed, in 2013-14 season, the Scot had only managed two more points by the same stage with the then-defending Premier League champions.
United were sixth after 19 games, with 10 wins, four draws and five defeats.
Dipo Akinyemi scores twice but York are crushed at home by high-flying Barnet
Barnet turned on the style in the second half to crush York 4-2 in the Vanarama National League.
The home side actually started the better, going ahead through Dipo Akinyemi’s seventh-minute lobbed opener.
But Barnet hit back, Idris Kanu having a goal ruled out for offside before Harry Pritchard equalised from the edge of the box (12).
Kanu gave the visitors the lead from close range (64) and the result was secured three minutes later when Reece Hall-Johnson headed in at the back post.
Zak Brunt nodded in a fourth with eight minutes to go as Barnet rubbed salt into the wound, before Akinyemi’s last-minute consolation.
Solihull maintain unbeaten start to the season with victory at Hartlepool
Solihull Moors extended their unbeaten start to the Vanarama National League season with an impressive 2-0 victory at Hartlepool.
Andy Whing’s side have now won seven and drawn five as goals from Joe Newton and Callum Maycock saw them leave the Suit Direct Stadium with three points.
Newton capped off an early move to put the visitors ahead inside 10 minutes, with Maycock slotting home to double the lead before the break.
Mani Dieseruvwe came close to reducing the arrears but saw his header well saved by Tommy Simkin as Hartlepool failed to find a way back into the contest.
England suffer last-gasp loss on Sarina Wiegman’s Netherlands return
England boss Sarina Wiegman’s return to the Netherlands ended in defeat as Dutch substitute Renate Jansen’s superb late strike saw the Lionesses beaten 2-1 in their second Nations League group game.
Jansen rifled past Mary Earps in the 90th minute in Utrecht after Lieke Martens’ contentious first-half opener, which would likely have been ruled out had VAR been in operation, was cancelled out by Alessia Russo’s 64th-minute finish.
Both teams hit the woodwork late in the first half, Rachel Daly for the visitors and Linda Beerensteyn for the hosts.
Netherlands goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar then made an excellent save to deny Lauren Hemp before Russo brought things level, but it was Jansen who had the final say on what proved a disappointing occasion for Wiegman in the battle between her current and former employers, both of whom she has guided to Euros glory and a World Cup final.
The result – only a third loss for England under Wiegman – leaves both the Lionesses and Andries Jonker’s Netherlands on three points in Group A1.
