Trinidad and Tobago Legions produced a clinical all-round display to secure a six-wicket win over Jamaica Titans at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Breakout League action on Wednesday. The victory was built on disciplined bowling and a composed run chase led by captain Joshua Da Silva and Kamil Pooran.

After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, the Legions restricted Jamaica to 127-8 from their 20 overs. McKenny Clarke was superb with the ball, taking 2-14 in his four overs and removing both Leroy Lugg, who top-scored with 30, and Jordan Johnson. Navin Bidaisee (2-19) and Johann Layne (2-27) also delivered key spells, with Shaaron Lewis (1-28) chipping in to dismiss opposing captain Ramaal Lewis cheaply.

Zion Brathwaite offered some late resistance with a 30-ball 37, while Jeavor Royal added 12 and Reon Edwards struck an unbeaten 15, but wickets fell at regular intervals, preventing Jamaica from building momentum.

In reply, Trinidad and Tobago overcame a shaky start to reach 130-4 in 18.3 overs. After the early loss of Amir Jangoo and Cephas Cooper, skipper Joshua Da Silva anchored the innings with a fluent 31 off 24 balls, which included three boundaries and a six. His composed knock steadied the chase before he was dismissed with the score on 57.

Kamil Pooran then took over, crafting a well-paced 45 from 38 balls, supported by Navin Bidaisee who remained not out on 29. The pair added a crucial 64-run partnership for the fourth wicket that sealed the game. Jyd Goolie was unbeaten on 3 as the Legions crossed the finish line with nine balls to spare.

Jamaica’s best bowlers were Andrew Rambaran (2-23), who removed both Da Silva and Cooper, and Jeavor Royal (1-21), but the total proved too small to defend.

With this win, Trinidad and Tobago Legions continue their strong showing in the tournament, while the Jamaica Titans are left searching for consistency as the competition intensifies.

The match was overseen by umpires Carl Tuckett and Deighton Butler, with Lyndon Rajkumar as TV umpire and Michael Ragoonath as match referee.
