Dejourn Charles has emerged as the new batting leader in the 2025 Vincy Premier League T10, eclipsing West Indies star Andre "Spiceman" Fletcher despite the latter's explosive back-to-back centuries last weekend. With the competition heating up, Charles' consistency at the top of the order for La Soufriere Hikers has propelled him to 257 runs, making him the most prolific batter of the tournament so far.
Charles has quietly built his tally with two half-centuries, maintaining an impressive average of 42.83 and a strike rate of 210.66. Unlike Fletcher, whose runs have come in dominant bursts, Charles has been a steady presence throughout the campaign — his string of 30s and 40s proving vital for his team.
Fletcher, who previously held the top spot, has been in sensational form for the Botanical Gardens Rangers. His two unbeaten hundreds lit up the tournament and showcased his unmatched power, reflected in a blistering strike rate of 258.76 — the highest among all major scorers. His current total of 251 runs, scored at an average of 41.83, keeps him just behind Charles in a battle that is far from over.
South African Jacobus Pienaar remains firmly in contention as well, sitting third in the run-scoring table with 237 runs at an average of 47.4. Pienaar, who plays with fluency and precision, has matched Charles with two fifties of his own, while maintaining a strike rate above 220.
Salt Pond Breakers all-rounder Haston Jackson is fourth with 190 runs, showing value as both an enforcer in the middle overs and a finisher. He has maintained a strike rate of 166.67 and has been key to the Breakers’ strong performances this season. Rounding out the top five is Jeheil Walters, also of the Hikers, who has scored 180 runs with a top score of 51 and a strike rate of 176.47.
While the batters continue to light up the Arnos Vale strip, it’s West Indies white-ball pacer Obed McCoy who leads the way with the ball. McCoy has claimed 12 wickets at a miserly average of 8.67 and an economy rate of exactly 8.00 — extraordinary numbers for the high-scoring T10 format. Whether with the new ball or at the death, McCoy’s variations and control have made him a constant threat to opposition batters.
Tied with McCoy at the top of the wicket charts is Roneil Jeffrey, whose 12 wickets have come at an average of 9.42. Though slightly more expensive with the ball, Jeffrey has been no less effective and remains one of the tournament’s most consistent performers.
Asif Hooper has also made his mark, picking up 10 wickets while maintaining an economy of 8.17 — the best among the top five bowlers. His ability to apply pressure in the middle overs has served his team well.
Meanwhile, Kemar Smith and Jerome Jones have each taken nine wickets. Though both have conceded runs at a higher clip, their knack for picking up key breakthroughs has kept them among the league’s most valuable bowling assets.
