Bidaisee’s All-Round Brilliance Powers T&T Legions to Six-Wicket Win Over Windward Islands Infernos

Navin Bidaisee delivered a match-winning performance with both bat and ball to lead Trinidad and Tobago Legions to a commanding six-wicket victory over Windward Islands Infernos at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in the West Indies Breakout League on Sunday.

Chasing 163 for victory, the Legions rode on Bidaisee’s unbeaten 56 off 40 balls—an innings laced with six boundaries and two sixes—to reach their target in 18.1 overs. The composed right-hander anchored the innings after the early loss of captain Kamil Pooran for a duck and a brief wobble at 63-3 following the dismissals of Amir Jangoo (20) and Joshua Da Silva (6).

Crystian Thurton provided the early momentum with a brisk half-century, scoring 50 from 32 balls, including four fours and three sixes, before falling with the total on 112. His innings helped lay the foundation for Bidaisee to calmly steer the chase home alongside Jyd Goolie, who added a valuable 18 not out.

Earlier, Bidaisee had made an impact with the ball, removing both openers Johann Jeremiah (40) and Ryshon Williams (27) to finish with 2-18 from three overs. His spell sparked a collapse that saw the Infernos plummet from 69 without loss to 70-4 in a matter of deliveries.

A late assault by Shadrack Descarte, who smashed 36 off just 18 balls with three fours and three sixes, lifted the Infernos to 162-7, but it ultimately wasn’t enough. Jyd Goolie was also effective with the ball, taking 2-16 from four overs.

With this victory, T&T Legions continue to build momentum in the inaugural Breakout League, while the Infernos are left to reflect on what might have been after a promising start with the bat.
