Among the few members of the 1975 World Cup-winning team not to take the field during the tournament as a member of the playing XI, Maurice Foster’s contribution to the team’s success was measured by the stability and match-play experience he brought throughout their historic journey.

Known for being an elegant batsman, who could also make an impact as an occasional off-spinner, Foster and the remaining 13 legends will be honoured when Cricket West Indies and the West Indies Players’ Association host their awards gala at the Wyndham Grand Barbados this Sunday, June 22nd.

His presence in the dressing room added leadership support to Captain Clive Lloyd and offered valuable mentorship to younger players, many of whom were just beginning to make their mark on the international stage.
