
John Campbell and Shai Hope will make their return to the regional side in the game’s longest format as both men were named in the West Indies playing XI on the eve of the start of the first Test against Australia at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
Campbell will open the batting alongside former captain Kraigg Brathwaite while Hope, the West Indies ODI and T20I skipper, will bat at number six and keep wicket.
It will be Campbell's 21st Test appearance and first since June 2022 while Hope will play his 39th Test and first since December 2021.
Keacy Carty will bat at number three while another Jamaican, Brandon King, will bat at four in his Test debut.
Captain Roston Chase will bat at five while Justin Greaves will bat at number seven.
Vice-captain Jomel Warrican, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph and Jayden Seales make up the rest of the eleven.
