The Texas Super Kings had a spectacular day with the ball as they inflicted an embarrassing 93-run defeat on the Seattle Orcas to move to three wins in as many games in the 2025 Major League Cricket season at the Oakland Coliseum on Monday.
The Orcas day started well as they restricted the Super Kings to 153-6 in their 20 overs after winning the toss and choosing to bowl first.
Saiteja Mukkamalla led the scoring with 30 off 23 balls while Marcus Stoinis and Daryl Mitchell were the next highest scorers with 28 off 12 balls and 25 off 26 balls, respectively.
Stoinis hit four sixes in his knock while Mitchell hit three fours.
Harmeet and Jasdeep Singh were the best bowlers for the Orcas with 2-24 and 2-34 from their eight overs while West Indian Obed McCoy was economical, going for just 22 in his four overs while picking up a wicket.
The Orcas then produced what can only be described as a horrid reply with the bat, folding for just 60 in 13.5 overs with only Aaron Jones (17) and Jasdeep Singh (12) reaching double figures.
South African pacer Nandre Burger was the pick of the TSK bowlers with 3-10 from his 3.5 overs while fellow left arm seamer Zia-ul-Haq was also excellent with 3-16 from three overs.
Left arm wrist spinner Noor Ahmad continued his good form to start the season with 3-18 from his four overs.
The win means both the Super Kings and San Francisco Unicorns have won their first three games this season while the Orcas, LA Knight Riders and MI New York are yet to get off the mark.
