The Coca-Cola Intercol is back and this year, the company is taking steps to awaken the eco-consciousness of players.

In keeping with The Coca-Cola Company’s mandate to help solve the global plastic waste crisis, the local bottling partner Caribbean Bottlers Trinidad and Tobago Limited is encouraging students to get busy recycling plastic bottles to help preserve the environment and promote sustainable living.

How can they do this, you ask? By creating moments of #sustainablehappiness throughout the competition for a chance to win special edition Intercol jerseys.

Winning is easy!

Collect as many plastic bottles as you can and deliver them to the Every Bottle Back Collections Centre located in Port-of-Spain.

When bottles have been collected from participating schools, they will be counted.

Once this is done, the Intercol teams with the most bottles will win special edition jerseys which are made from recycled plastic bottles.

By encouraging students to participate in the fight against pollution, it is hoped that they in turn would encourage their families and peers to do the same.

If every player recycles 10 plastic bottles each, that'll be approximately 5,000 bottles.

If every student in their school does the same, that'll be approximately 1 million bottles and if every citizen follows their lead and does the same, that'll be approximately 14 million bottles that won't make their way to landfills or seas.

Coca-Cola is focused on increasing recycling rates with the goal of collecting and recycling the equivalent of 100% of the packaging they produce toward an overall to achieve a ‘World Without Waste’.

And Caribbean Bottlers is taking an extra “shot at goal” through this #SustainableHappiness Challenge with the hope that every school and student will participate and bring #EveryBottleBack.
