Rising star Shanoya Douglas is the latest young athlete to commit to competing at the 2025 New York International Showcase set for January 24th and 25th at the Ocean Breeze Park and Athletic Complex.
Muschette High’s Douglas, who turned 17 in December, recently opened her season at the JC Sprint Fest on January 3 and the Pure Water/R. Danny Williams JC Meet on January 4.
She ran 23.62 to win the 200m on Friday and 11.56 and 54.56 to win the 100m/400m double on Saturday.
The second-year Class Two athlete enjoyed an excellent 2024 season that saw her win the Class Two 200m/400m double at the ISSA Boys and Girls Championships and follow that up with gold medals in the 200m, 4x100m and 4x400m at the Carifta Games in Grenada.
Her season culminated with 200m bronze at the World Under-20 Championships in Lima and gold in the 4x100m.
She also established new personal best of 11.28, 22.59 and 52.96 last season.
