
Jamaican Clemson junior Oneka Wilson, Bahamian Florida junior Anthaya Charlton and Vincentian Olympic finalist Shafiqua Maloney were all among the winners on Saturday’s second day of the Tom Jones Memorial at the Percy Beard Track in Gainesville, Florida.
Wilson ran 13.06 into a -3.1m/s headwind to take the win in the Women’s Invitational 100m hurdles final ahead of Tennessee senior Myreanna Bebe (13.22) and Howard junior Marcia Sey (13.23).
The Men’s Invitational 110m hurdles final saw Jamaican LSU junior Jahiem Stern run 13.43 for second behind Texas junior Kendrick Smallwood (13.30). Stern’s teammate Matthew Sophia was third in 13.46.
Anthaya Charlton ran 11.12 to take top spot in the Women’s Invitational 100m ahead of LSU sophomore Tima Godbless (11.14) and Georgia junior Kaila Jackson (11.16).
The Women’s Invitational 800m crown went to Shafiqua Maloney in 1:59.23 ahead of Harvard senior Victoria Bossong (1:59.48) and Clemson sophomore Gladys Chepngetich (1:59.68).
In the field, Jamaican Alabama junior Christopher Young threw 19.27m to take the win in the Men’s Shot Put ahead of Auburn junior Matthew Rueff (18.81m) and Florida junior Logan Montgomery (18.16m).
Bahamian Kaiwan Culmer produced 16.61m for second in the Men’s Triple Jump behind NYAC’s Donald Scott (16.67m) while Illinois junior Viktor Morozov was third with 15.70m.
