Jamaica’s Christania Williams stormed to victory in the women’s 100 metres at the 2025 Halina Konopacka Classic in Warszawa, Poland, on Sunday, June 22, clocking a wind-assisted 11.23 seconds (+2.7 m/s) to finish ahead of Brazil’s Gabriela Mourão and the USA’s Gabriele Cunningham.

Williams, the 2018 Commonwealth Games silver medallist, was smooth out of the blocks from lane four and never relinquished the lead. Mourão finished second in 11.40, just edging Cunningham, who was credited with the same time but a slightly slower reaction.

The meet also saw standout performances in the field and hurdles, particularly from Cuba, Panama, and the United States.

In the women’s discus throw, Olympic gold medallist Valarie Allman of the USA dominated with a best mark of 68.87 metres in the first round. Cuba’s Yaime Pérez, the 2019 world champion, produced a solid series with a top throw of 64.71m to claim second. Lithuania’s Ieva Gumbs took third with 61.86m, also achieved in the final round.

Panama’s Gianna Woodruff was in top form in the women’s 400m hurdles, running a season’s best 54.91 to take gold. Germany’s Eileen Demes finished second in 55.50, while Poland’s Anna Gryc delighted the home crowd with a third-place finish and a personal best of 55.62.
