Vere Technical standout Shevaughn Thomas will continue her academic and athletic journey at the illustrious Clemson University, the school announced in a social media post on Monday.
Thomas, a finalist in both the Class One Girls 400m and 400m hurdles at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Championships, was most recently a part of Vere Technical’s bronze medal-winning 4x400m quartet at the Penn Relays on April 26.
Earlier that month, Thomas took home a silver medal in the Under-20 Girls 400m hurdles from the CARIFTA Games at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Trinidad & Tobago. That was a day after a fifth-place finish in the 400m final.
Her 400m hurdles personal best of 58.41 was done in her heat in T&T while her 400m personal best 53.60 was done to win at Jamaica’s CARIFTA Trials in February.
