
USC’s Williams, Ohio State’s Bertrand among medals in respective 60m finals at Big 10 Indoor Championships

Jamaican USC senior Travis Williams and Trinidadian Ohio State senior Leah Bertrand were among the medals in the respective men’s and women’s 60m at the Big 10 Indoor Championships in Indianapolis on Saturday. Both finals were split into two heats with the places being determined be times.
Williams won the first heat in 6.59 but had to settle for second overall behind teammate Christyn John Stevenson who ran 6.56 to take home the title. Oregon junior PJ Ize-Iyamu was third in 6.64.
In the women’s equivalent, Bertrand, a 2024 Olympian, ran 7.19 to win her heat but finish third overall behind USC junior Dajaz Defrand (7.10) and Oregon senior Jadyn Mays (7.15).
Bertrand will also compete in the 200m final later on Saturday.
