
Jamaicans Dejanea Oakley and Oneka Wilson were among the early medals on day two of the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships in Virginia Beach on Saturday.
Oakley, a junior at the University of Georgia, produced 51.14 to take home bronze in the final of the women’s 400m.
Arkansas junior Isabella Whittaker took gold in a personal best and collegiate record 49.24 while Georgia junior Aaliyah Butler ran 49.97 in second.
Whittaker’s time is also a new American record, facility record and the second fastest time ever in the event.
In the women’s 60m hurdles final, Clemson junior Oneka Wilson took bronze in 7.99, just behind Oregon junior Aaliyah McCormick who ran a personal best 7.91 for silver.
Texas A&M junior Jaiya Covington took gold in a personal best and facility record 7.90.
