
World Indoor Long Jump bronze medallist Carey McLeod was among the winners at Saturday’s Atlanta City Games at Piedmont Park in Atlanta on Saturday.
Jamaica’s reigning national champion produced a best jump of 8.33m to take top spot ahead of Italian Mattia Furlani (8.28m) and Guyana’s Emmanuel Archibald who established a new personal best and national record 8.22m.
Another Jamaican, Nikaoli Williams, also produced a lifetime best 8.13m in fourth.
On the track, Trinidad & Tobago’s Jereem Richards was second in the straight 200m in 19.63 behind Zharnel Hughes who won in 19.55. South African World 400m record holder Wayde Van Niekerk ran 20.03 for third.
Jamaican Deandre Daley took third in a windy (2.3m/s) Men’s Elite 100m in 10.12 behind Nigeria’s Udodi Onwuzurike (10.05) and South African Akani Simbine (9.86).
Orlando Bennet was third in the Men’s Elite 110m hurdles final in 13.55. Trey Cunningham took the win in 13.16 while Freddie Crittenden was second in 13.33.
Bahamian Terrence Jones ran 14.93 for second in the Men’s 150m Elite behind Kenyan Ferdinand Omanyala (14.70) while Matthew Boling was third in 15.15.
