Fatima College maintained their dominance at the top of the Secondary Schools' Football League (SSFL) premiership division with a convincing 3-0 victory over Bishop's High School on Saturday.

Michael Chaves scored a late brace to seal the win for Fatima, who now have 31 points from 12 matches.

Meanwhile, San Juan North dropped points for the third week running as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Malick Secondary at Bourg Mulatresse. This slip-up saw them drop from second to third in the standings.

Defending champions St Benedict's College capitalized on San Juan North's misfortune, moving into second place with a 4-2 win over Queen's Royal College.

The most entertaining match of the weekend came from Trinity College Grounds in Moka, where East Mucurapo and Pleasantville played out a thrilling 13-goal encounter. East Mucurapo emerged victorious, winning 8-5.

In other matches, Naparima College dropped points for a third consecutive match, drawing 2-2 with Speyside away in Tobago.

Trinity East beat St Anthony's College to round out the weekend's fixtures.

The SSFL premiership division is now heating up, with the top four teams separated by just five points. The battle for the title is sure to be intense in the coming weeks.

Fatima College moved to the top of the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) premiership division standings on Saturday with a remarkable 5-2 win over San Juan North Secondary School at the latter's school ground.

Despite being reduced to 10 men after Captain Jaden Williams was sent off, Fatima scored three goals in the last few minutes of the match to turn a 2-2 draw into a resounding victory.

Jonathan Mason scored twice in the 87th minute and stoppage time, while Michael Chaves added a third in the 97th minute.

Fatima's other goals came from Aidan De Gannes and an own goal by Jaheem Danclar.

San Juan North had taken the lead through national youth player Lindell Sween in the 23rd minute, but Danclar equalized in the 26th minute.

Fatima then took the lead through De Gannes in the 33rd minute, but Nathan Quashie levelled the scores again for San Juan North in the 45th minute.

In other SSFL results on Saturday, Speyside High School defeated Pleasantville Secondary 3-1, Trinity College East came from behind to beat Malick Secondary 2-1, St Mary's College defeated Queen's Royal College 4-3, East Mucurapo beat Chaguanas North Secondary 3-0, Presentation College San Fernando crushed Bishop's High School 4-0, and defending champions St Benedict's College edged St Anthony's College 1-0.

Naparima and San Juan North maintained their 100 per cent win records in Trinidad and Tobago’s Secondary Schools Football League Premiership Division on Wednesday. However, Fatima College lost their perfect record after they were held to a goalless draw by St Benedict’s College.

Naparima maintained their exemplary goal-scoring form when they blanked Malick Secondary 3-0. Those three goals took their tally in five matches this season to an impressive 32 goals while conceding only two.

The win took them to 15 points and sees them leading on goal-difference over San Juan North, who edged Arima North Secondary 1-0.

Meanwhile, Fatima College lost their perfect record when they were held to a 0-0 draw, a result that sees them fall two points behind Naparima and San Juan North.

St Anthony’s College picked up three valuable points following their 10-1 drubbing of Chaguanas North Secondary. They now have nine points and are fourth in the table, one point ahead of fifth-placed Presentation College, who were held at a 1-1 draw with Speyside High School, who are sixth on seven points.

Elsewhere, Trinity College East, who are next to bottom in the league table played to a 2-2 draw with bottom-placed Pleasantville Secondary. The schools have two and one point, respectively.

St Mary’s College earned their second win of the season after outscoring East Mucurapo Secondary 3-2 while Bishop’s High School had their first win after edging Queens Royal College 1-0.
