British sprinter Zharnel Hughes has been confirmed as one of the Racers for the 2025 Grand Slam Track season, which kicks off in Jamaica in April. The collegiate track and field community faces a dire warning from Sam Seemes, CEO of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Speaking at the 2024 USTFCCCA Convention in Orlando, Florida, Seemes declared that the sport is under immediate threat, with shrinking opportunities, budget cuts, and program eliminations looming large. His remarks carry significant weight for Caribbean athletes, many of whom rely on U.S. collegiate scholarships to launch their careers.

Cricket West Indies (CWI) president Dr. Kishore Shallow has doubled down on his commitment to governance reform despite significant resistance from the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) and the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA).

The two territorial boards failed to attend a crucial meeting earlier this month to vote on implementing proposed reforms, stalling progress on modernizing CWI’s governance structure.

Trinidad and Tobago’s Head coach, Dwight Yorke, found himself balancing disappointment and optimism after his Soca Warriors fell to a 1-3 defeat against Saudi Arabia in a friendly at the Al Shabab Stadium in Riyadh on Tuesday.

While the result went against the visitors, Yorke, who recently took charge of the national team, saw enough positives in the performance to remain encouraged about the road ahead.
